We participated to Workshop on Planning Intervention in Marine Pollution Incidents
Our General Manager Hakan Karaca, as a member of the DTO Tanker Operations Committee and representing our company, participated as a speaker at the "Workshop on Planning Intervention in Marine Pollution Incidents." The workshop covered topics such as National and Regional Emergency Response Planning, Waste Management, Rehabilitation, and Conservation of Wildlife. Views were exchanged among Port Operators, Tanker Operators, Shipyard Managers, Ship Owners, and legal authorities.
During his speech, Hakan Karaca evaluated the principles of emergency response and compensation for damages under the Law No. 5312 concerning Marine Pollution by Petroleum and Other Hazardous Substances within the framework of Tanker Operators. He also highlighted significant increases in administrative fines based on factors such as tonnage weight, institution status, special environmental protection zones, and hazardous substances, as stipulated by the Environment Law No. 2872.
